Zoëfied David Gray Cover

Just a quick ditty to celebrate 1300 likes on Facebook.

Only just learnt it this afternoon and thought I’d just stick it up as a free download if you wish, and hopefully, maybe introduce some people into the amazing world of David Gray (But who would that be, you should all know his awesomeness). Apologies for the minor mistakes, I was excited :3

Enjoy and well done for reading that big chunk of text, hope you enjoy more of my stuff :)

youtube-thumbnail

‘Ello guys! It’s the October half term, so for the next two weeks I’m off school (although I’m revising and have a heap of homework), I’m going to try and get in the spare-room studio and do some recordings, some more covers and stuff… Anyhoo, on Saturday I finally finished the words to a song that’s riff has been flying round my head for ages (probably driving mum and dad insane LOL), and thought I’d … Continue reading

Making my first music video

filming-at-Murrays-monument

A couple of weeks ago I filmed my first ever professional music video.  It’s for my first single, 35 Missed Calls which should be released in a few weeks. And, later on today I’m getting a sneak peak at the finished video. I am really excited. The filming was a lovely experience although it was VERY cold and sometimes wet, and sometimes extremely muddy. Jessica, the film’s producer had developed a really nice story for … Continue reading

Singing For My Supper

busking-28-1-12

Following on from a couple of REALLY busy weekends, I was looking forward to a quiet one when my Mum got a facebook message: “Would Zoe like to sing in the streets of Dumfries tomorrow?” A little bit of an odd request, but it was all part of The Big Burn’s Supper - you can read more about that by following the link, but I got involved by singing (just me and my uke) on a … Continue reading

festive50-full

What a way to finish off 2011. Today, Christmas Day, I discovered that I got voted onto the prestigious Dandelion Radio Festive 50. This is a tradition that the legendary Radio 1 DJ, John Peel started back in the 70′s and it charts the most popular tracks that have been played during the current year. Following John’s death in 2004 the show eventually moved across to Dandelion Radio and Jeff Grainger featured me on his show in … Continue reading

Distilled Records signs Zoë Bestel – Woo Hoo!

distilled-logo-white

I think it’s only just sinking in, but yes, I’ve been signed by a record company! The owner of Distilled Records, Steve, was at my CatStrand gig in August and approached me and my Dad afterwards and said, “We need to get Zoë into the studio.” I didn’t really know that, “We need to get Zoë in the studio” meant he’d like me to sign to his label. But yeah, we’ve agreed to record four … Continue reading

I’m on the radio!

dandelion_logo

Yes, you read that correct. I am on the radio! Jeff Grainger kindly got in touch and asked for a spare-room-studio recording of 35 Missed Calls for his online-radio slot on Dandelion Radio. Dandelion radio is an internet radio station inspired by John Peel. Each DJ has an hour or so show repeated at different times throughtout the month. Jeff says it’s about 15-20 minutes in, and here is a link to the schedule. So … Continue reading
